'Writing is really rewriting. It's about making the story better, clearer, and truer.'
A passion for writing has inspired the creation of K.C. Editing Company. With over seven years of academic and creative writing experience, I want to now help you create your best literary work. Located in the heart of Toronto, this company will help you strengthen your projects whether they be academic journal articles, creative non-fiction, screenplays, and short or long prose. The editing and workshopping process will bring your writing to its most polished form.
Sometimes all it takes is hard work, fresh dedicated eyes, and revision. Believe in your words - that they matter - and soon the world will too.
Kara Toews completed her BA at the University of Alberta in 2019 and is now a Creative Writing Master’s candidate at the University of Toronto where she specializes in prose. Toews crafted her editorial skills through the English and Creative Writing courses over the duration of her academic career.
Her fiction has been published in Untethered, Glass Buffalo, Half a Grapefruit, The Danforth Review, and elsewhere. She has received five academic literary awards, including the 2019 SSHRC grant. More recently, she has edited a novel, a children’s book, and a collection of short stories. She is currently working one-on-one on her thesis novel with Toronto author Michael Redhill.
If Toews could bring back an author from the dead, it would be Truman Capote. They would sip on gin and tonics together, and she would tell him how she transforms caffeine into words.
